John Aisthorpe

I joined GHR in 2003 thinking I would stay for one year but after fifteen years I’m still here enjoying it as much as I did when I first started. I’ve been a nightclub DJ from 1974 but stopped spinning the wheels of steel in the 1990s as I didn’t like where the music was going (although one of my fellow presenters thinks this is the greatest decade the music industry has ever seen!). Now being back in the driving seat again I enjoying entertaining the listeners in the hospital with our Tuesday night quiz ‘Beat the Jock’ and key to this is working with a good team. Like many volunteers I do hold a full time job as a ceramic tile fitter which I have done for many years.
